[Software Engineer] Fellow Software Engineer/ Network - Aiken, SC with SRNS

Duties:
Design, implement, and secure computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. Optimize network performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, topologies, and procedures. Evaluate and select vendors for network equipment and services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to network security and data privacy.

Network Architect Responsibilities and Qualification Responsibilities:
1. Designing Network Infrastructure: Develop and design scalable, secure, and reliable network architectures that meet the organization's current and future needs.
2. Network Planning and Strategy: Create strategic plans for network infrastructure development, including capacity planning, and network optimization. Plan for continual future network infrastructure upgrade cycles.
3. Implementation and Deployment: Oversee the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
4. Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the network from cyber threats, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
5. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
6. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, topologies, and procedures.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, cybersecurity experts, and so􀅌ware developers, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other IT systems.
8. Vendor Management: Evaluate and select vendors for network equipment and services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to network security and data privacy.
10. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level support for network-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing solutions in a timely manner.

Work Hours:
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Area Security Access: Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active

DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate, assumed to be uncleared, will be given the opportunity to apply for a DOE clearance.
