Title:                   Operations & Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity with our client for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Supervisor in the power generation space. The Operations & Maintenance Supervisor will assist the Plant Manager in supervising, managing, and directing generation output. The Operations & Maintenance Supervisor will manage activities for multiple electric generating facilities that utilize gas turbine technologies. The Operations & Maintenance Supervisor will direct and monitor the activities of workers engaged in the administration, operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment such as gas turbines, gas compressors, air compressors, motors, and pumps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Assists the Plant Manager in the direction of workers in electrical, electronic, 
mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and 
equipment. 
•    Assists the Plant Manager in the studies of production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. 
•    Fulfills the duties of Plant Manager in their absence. 
•    Works with, assists, provides training, mentors the O&M Technicians in all aspects of 
their daily job duties including diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. 
•    Ensures company policies are adhered to by workers and enforces safety regulations. 
•    Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. 
•    Administers established work procedures to meet maintenance schedules. 
•    Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  
•    Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to 
increase efficiency of work crew. 
•    Administers and participates in plans to motivate workers to achieve project goals. 
•    Assists the Plant Manager in maintaining time and production records. 
•    Confers with other plant managers, operation & maintenance supervisors and 
company staff to coordinate activities between other company plants. 
•    Participates in the creation, assignments, closeouts, and reviews of maintenance actions taken on work order forms. 
•    Creates and reviews purchase orders for parts, ensuring budgetary constraints are met. 
•    Assist the Plant Manager in the formulation of the plant budget and goals. 
•    Prepare and review work orders for required preventative and corrective maintenance. 
•    Reads and understands technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams. 
•    Supervises all maintenance to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with technical manual procedures and sound engineering procedures. 
•    Reads, understands and ensures compliance with all plant safety and regulatory policies and procedures, including but not limited to CAL OSHA, Air Quality, Water Quality, EPA, WECC, DOE, and FERC. 

Job Requirements:
•    Ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
•    Knowledge of equipment isolation and tagging procedures.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions.
•    Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or an organization. 
•    Excellent leadership, motivational, and teamwork skills.
•    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, 
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
•    Ability to read, interpret, and use plant operating procedures, P&IDs, and check sheets for completion of daily work activities.
•    Flexibility to work odd hours, especially during unplanned outages.
•    Ability to accurately read instruments, gauges, and control devices.
•    Ability to operate switches, pushbuttons, and other controls.

Physical Requirements:
•    Must be physically capable of conducting field inspections and participating in daily site walk-downs which require extensive walking in and around the site, climbing ladders, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in small and/or confined spaces, lift to 40 lbs., and working in varied outdoor environments such as all-weather conditions.

Education / Experience:
•    High school diploma or GED required.
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B.M.E.) or equivalent; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
•    Experience with gas turbines is required
•    Experience with SCADA Systems required.
•    Experience with Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) required.

Compensation:
$130,000 - $150,000
