[Field Engineer] Field Engineer, Electrical

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Field Engineer, Electrical to join our team. This position is full-time and will serve the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) Project at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. 

OVERVIEW
Provide supervision and oversight of engineering activities.
Act as a liaison between various construction, engineering, and craft divisions.
Resolve quantity verification issues.
Write technical change requests (CRs) and other Engineering Documents.
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment with oversight from more senior engineers.
Develop, review, and coordinate documents with suppliers, other disciplines, and customers.
Performs electrical engineering design, including the development of single line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, connection diagrams, load lists, etc.
Supports the development of material requisitions and specifications for non-standard equipment and bills of material for off-the-shelf equipment and components.
Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions, and system descriptions related to design tasks.
Conduct field and electrical documents and design checking as required.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering-related discipline and 2+ years of experience supporting construction area/field engineering activities.
Must be proficient with basic engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and calculations.
Must have knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and electrical equipment layouts.


DESIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards, preferred.
Knowledge of cable design and sizing, preferred.
Previous experience of DOE, DOD and/or commercial nuclear construction projects, preferred.

CLEARANCE & CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT
To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
