Job Summary:
Assembles, cuts, and grinds metal structural parts to include plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles, and come-a-long. Aligns parts in relation to each other. Tacks and welds foundation and structural members. Performs lay out work according to blueprints or reference lines. Marks location of holes to be drilled, drives wedges and installs temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Essential Job Tasks:
1. Lay out work from blueprint.
2. Cut, burn, grind, rip out and fit metal structural parts for placement on ship.
3. Tack and weld foundation and structural members.
4. Operate high reaching equipment including condors, sky climbers, scissors lift.
5. Set up tools and equipment at the job site.
6. Cleans up and removes scrap to nearest scrap tub.
7. Operate overhead cranes and use rigging equipment.
8. Other job duties that may be assigned relevant to the trade.
