Wages:
$32.00 - $34.00 per hour
$150.00 Per Diem offered, if eligible
$400.00 Travel Pay

Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the shipfitting operations within a shipyard. This role typically involves the following duties:

- Supervising Shipfitters and other personnel involved in the constructions, repair, modification, and installation of shipboard hulls, bulkheads, or decks.
- Reviewing project schedules and budgets during ship availabilities to ensure that assigned production work is complete on schedule and within budget.
- Controlling labor and materials to support schedule milestone requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies.
- Rigging plates and equipment safely and being accountable for the completion of daily work assignments.
- Installing and fitting parts on ships, locating positions of pieces by reference to various reference points, and installing necessary items like packing & gaskets.

The supervisor must be technically proficient in tasks, work processes, and equipment operation, and capable of effectively conferring job-related information to the structural supervisor and small groups. They also play a crucial role in participating in the planning process and may be involved in hands-on work alongside their team.

Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years' professional experience: in shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair, in businesses with manufacturing of heavy steel structures, in the production of pressure vessels, boilers and other quality products.
- Provable welding/shipbuilding technical knowledge
- Several years of experience in the instruction of production teams
- Several years of experience in the use of computers
- Experiences with modern production machines and automated production lines, as well as modern building methods.
