***Job Description: Questions below must be answered with each candidate***
PROJECT:
The selected contractor shall support a team performing analysis,
generating trade studies, and mock-up development for a weight reduction
initiative for a DoD Avionics platform. The areas to be addressed include:
Weight and Balance; Strength/Stress; Human Systems Interfaces and
Workstation Design; Reliability and Maintability; Safety; E3 and Tempest
issues; Cooling and Thermal Design; Electrical Loads; Cost; Logistics; and
Producability.
POSITION:
Selected candidate will perform design, development, and test of equipment
and integration kits for avionics and communication systems on military
aircraft and transportable platforms.
REQUIRED:
• Experience in electronic packaging and design of components and
equipment for airborne applications (minimum 2 years)
• Working knowledge of commercial and military packaging form factors
(minimum 2 years)
• Must have design and documentation experience on a 3-D modeling
toolset - preferably Solidworks and Unigraphs (minimum 2 years)
• Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to
interface with team members, subcontractors, and customer representatives
• Experience in aircraft integration (minimum 2 years)
o Note: this is preferably DoD. However, experience in the Boeing or
Airbus commercial jets is also acceptable
• Do not need an active clearance in order to be submitted, but they must
be able to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance
• Prior experience performing analysis in two or more of the areas
identified in the description above, and generating trade studies from
that analysis.
PLEASE NOTE: The most important thing is either DoD avionics integration
experience or Boeing/Airbus jet integration experience. We are not seeking
candidates who have worked engines or structures (specialists), but rather
individuals who have integrated 2 or more of the subsystems into the
avionics environment.
PREFERRED:
• Experience in basic analysis of structural, dynamic, and thermal loads
with previous use of CAD modeling tools for structural and thermal
analyses
• Experience working programs with multiple contractor teams preferred
