Job Description:
Under general direction, performs manufacturing, machine shop & Assembly engineering assignments requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
40% - Prepares manufacturing Planning in the fields of welding, cleaning, Assembly & machining instructions. Responsible for the manufacturing, Assembly, welding & machining engineering activities of development and production programs through the application of engineering procedures, which may involve theoretical and experimental investigation, technical direction and coordination, and the conception and planning of resources to support hardware and/or software requirements.

20% - Provides solutions to technical problems utilizing manufacturing Assembly, welding & machine shop engineering techniques. Involves the analysis, evaluation and solution of technical problems encountered in the application of manufacturing Engineering methods, facilities, processes, materials and tooling incident to the fabrication and assembly of high technology products.

15% - Assists in preparing for and participates in manufacturing Process Reviews of complex assemblies.

10% - Analyzes and develops methods to increase efficiency of manufacturing, Assembly, welding and machining processes.

10% - Analyzes and develops methods to increase efficiency of manufacturing process and reduction of cycle times.

5% - Provides technical guidance to less senior engineers and shop personnel.


SKILLS >> Experience with hardware fabrication and assembly processes.
Technical knowledge of Tig, Orbital and E.B. Welding and NDE Techniques.
Experience preparing and presenting program reviews both internally and externally. Technical knowledge of assembly, pressure test, cleaning and leak testing techniques.

Proficient computer skills in Quicksilver and
Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Self-starter who requires minimum supervision. Requires organizational skills as well as strong
written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize and clearly convey thoughts and to communicate clearly and accurately on
technical issues.

Workplace may include areas where chemical materials are encountered. May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels. Must
customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety. May be required to utilize a variety of personal protection equipment.

Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.


EDUCATION >> Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate science and 2+ years of
related experience (or equivalent combination of education and
experience).
