Job Description:
CLIENT needs a Mechanical Engineer in N. Las Vegas onsite at a VA Hopital near Nellis Airforce Base. Local candidates ONLY! Long term temp or temp to hire for right candidate. Project duration is 2 years.
PE Registration desired but not manadatory!
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE: Working at a Hospital, HVAC, Construction Management and be a good communicator.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent serves as a Resident Engineer onsite at a field office within the Project Management Service Group, Service Delivery Office and Office of Construction & Facilities Management, in the Las Vegas Veterans Administration.
The incumbent is assigned as a staff Mechanical Engineer assisting the Senior Resident Engineer with the Administration and Supervision of major construction contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts and carries out portions of daily inspections of site work, building construction work; documents discrepancies, code violations, improper materials or techniques in the application of materials, substandard or poor quality workmanship; monitors schedules on various aspects of ongoing daily activities to identify and mitigate project slippage and coordinates phasing portions of the project.
• Reviews contractor's cost breakdown for proposals, as well as, submittals on proposed equipment and materials; maintains accurate and complete job files including as-built drawings and specifications; identifies progress delays and recommends appropriate corrective measures to the SRE toward mitigating delays and maintaining the progress schedule.
• Plans and coordinates disruptions to utility services as needed to keep construction progress on schedule and to minimize disruption to ongoing VA operations.
