Job Description: Fort Stewart - Savannah, GA
8 month temporary assignment.
Per Diem not confirmed at this time; search for local candidates only until confirmed.

Exempt position - no OT expected


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will function as Construction Manager/Owner’s rep performing construction management on a local military installation. Experience with Commissary / Grocery store construction a plus.

A Construction Manager is responsible for coordination of all communications between the contractor and government team. This position will provide daily inspection and oversight of the contractor’s work in accordance with government design drawings, specifications and criteria and national, state and local codes, regulations and authorities. Additional responsibilities include processing and routing of RFI’s, Submittals and change orders. Review of applications for payment and schedules. Conduct daily construction observations and inspections for quality assurance and compliance. Maintenance of project-related data hosted on website.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates shall hold an accredited degree in Const. Mgmt., Architecture, or Engineering with a minimum 5 years of practical field experience in project management or contract administration. An additional 5 years of Construction, Architectural and/or Engineering related experience may reduce requirement of a degree. Candidate must have experience in vertical and horizontal construction, preferably on major federal construction projects. Candidates must be assertive, possess excellent communications skills, be technically competent in construction practices and be familiar with CPM scheduling and RS Means estimating procedures. The Candidate must be capable of verifying that construction work has been completed in compliance with contract requirements, maintain daily record files in a computer-based system, conduct meetings with contractor and government representatives and preparing minutes and lists of required actions. Candidates must possess previous construction experience, demonstrate strong written /oral communication skills and be proficient with MS Office applications and proficient with computer skills.
