Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Engineer opportunity in West Milton, NY.

Our company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer member to join our Shipping Container Recapitalization team. The Mechanical Engineer member will perform engineering evaluations in support of the design, analysis, or testing of a new radiological shipping container or shipping container support equipment. Responsibilities may include sponsoring test programs, performing elastic and elastic-plastic structural analysis, developing designs and engineering drawings, performing alignment & tolerance studies (fit-up analysis) or developing design specifications. The engineer should have experience with mechanical equipment design, structural analysis, or testing. Additionally, the engineer may support engineering and business activities of the Reactor Servicing organization, as needed.

Requirements
Active or recently Active DOE or DOD clearance.
Minimum four year BS degree in engineering
5+ years of experience
Microsoft Office
Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, or Testing Programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technical writing
Highly Preferred
Familiarity with radiological material shipping containers and/or
Safety Analysis Reports for Packaging (SARPs)
Familiarity with 10CFR71
Mechanical or thermal testing
Alignment and tolerance studies or fit-up studies
Developing engineering drawings or specifications
Abaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit, or other similar FEA software
Elastic-Plastic Structural Analysis
Structural and thermal materials expertise
Mechanical automations
Python scripting

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and may range between $110,000 to $200,000 annually.
