We are searching for Project Manager, Fossil Fuel Power Generation (Natural Gas) for a 11-month contract assignment. The client is currently seeking experienced personnel to grow their capabilities in the fossil fuel power generation arena. In this role you would directly impact the company's goal of aggressively growing the fossil generation business by leading projects to ensure success, including coordination with cross functional teams (Development, Environmental, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, Operations, etc.) across the organization. You would report to and update leadership within the Engineering and Construction Department and provide your input and expertise daily to subject matter experts as the project leader of a collaborative and dynamic team. You would have multiple projects and be given the chance to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. Location: Juno Beach Florida -Office or Remote Job Overview

  • The person in this role leads the early-stage project management function supporting project origination and preparing for the execution of new fossil fuel power generation projects. Projects include natural gas-fired simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects.
  • The person will coordinate site selection and due diligence, conceptual design, capital estimating, schedule development and supports commercial agreement development to ensure the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner with an acceptable level of risk.
  • Will be participating in all aspects of the project to ensure projects are completed on time, within budgetary constraints and perform according to expectations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leads and facilitates the day-to-day management of projects to ensure timely completion as well as cost effective and competitive results.
  • Use analytical abilities and rigorous thinking to work cross-functionally, determine highest priority actions and tenaciously drive projects forward.
  • Coordinate key functions such as capital estimate and schedule development, engineering/design, project capacity and performance metrics and supports project legal reviews, permitting activities and commercial negotiations.
  • Support due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects while identifying and developing risk mitigation plans.
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and utility interconnection.
  • Assist in the construction of contractual arrangements for the project, must be hands on and willing to help write contract documents, both commercial and technical
  • Negotiate agreements with consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster relationships with internal customers, external customers and third parties and grows company's knowledge of new technologies and markets.
  • Provide timely written and oral communication of project issues and progress to Engineering and Construction management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with focus on relevant field associated with fossil fuel power generation or closely related field.
  • Experience: 5 years in natural gas-fired power generation or related field design and project management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project estimating
  • Strong engineering background to ensure proper oversight of engineering aspects of projects
  • Skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Skill with Microsoft Project or Primavera project management and scheduling software
