|
|
I am an outsourced elec eng who did his Co-op in ohio in 1977 at the Beckjorde coal fired plant . I was boning up on nuke as there was a plant being built in Moscow ohio but alas construction problems occured and the plant was never certified to my knowledge and became a coal unit. THATS my experience.
MY question is why there is such a problem with waste fuel. From my readings, waste fuel is approx 400 degrees when its removed and must be placed in a cooling pool . MY question is why it is not placed in a pool in a lead vault that also contains a sealed water system separated by a copper plate wall from the nuke material. the copper will transfer the heat to the sealed water system and turn it to steam. that steam could then be routed thru a superheater to a second copper lined room where by induction it could transfer the heat to a second sealed water system. that system would go thru its own super heater and turn the turbines.
Please explain why the waste nuke fuel , which is no longer being excited
therefore should not have any meltdown issues, could not be used in this manner.
And therefore solve the problem of waste fuel storage. An elimnate the need to buy new fuel. |
