First Time Homebuyers Credit gets another life:
The $8000 credit for first time home buyers is extending through
April 2010. For those of you close to buying a new home, you can
breathe easier and maybe look for a house you really like instead
of settling for one you might like. You must sign a contract by
April 30 and close by June 30 to be eligible.
That's Not All
A credit of $6,500 is now available for homeowners who have owned a
primary residence for five consecutive years in the last eight and
are buying a new primary residence. The credit starts December 1
and continues through the same period as the First Time Homebuyers
Credit
The income ceiling for these credits is also doubled to $125K for
singles and $225K for those filing jointly. The home must be priced
less than $800K and anyone who sells the home within three years of
purchase must return the credit. _________________ Joseph Smith EA
