|
|
Roadtechs.com does not have a resume database, but many shops have been trained over the years to expect access to one. We've always felt that we would be doing the shops a disservice by making them filter through resumes of people that are probably already working.
Unlike most other job sites on the web, we think it?s better to just connect the workers with the shops. If the worker is interested, they?ll fire off a resume themselves. If not interested, no harm, no foul.
Why our reluctance to keep your resume on file? Because it?s a risk to your personal information which can be used for identity theft. Most resumes include enough information for the thives to use right away. Next thing you know, you credit rating has crashed.
The reason we bring this up is because of a recent problem one of the big job sites had. Some hackers broke into their resume database and stole 1.3 million resumes. You can find the full write-up here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20408127/
Be careful out there,
Jim
