Second class for 2013 !!!We are still accepting reservations and have a number of projects for 2013 that require this certification for varying disciplines if interested. SCM

Procedure Solutions Management, LLC a small veteran-owned business would like to announce a 5-day Human Factored Technical Procedure Writing Course to be held in Clearwater FL, Florida at St. Petersburg College from May 6-10, 2013. The registration fee for this course at this location is $875 per attendee. Compare at $1400 by other certified companies. Interest free financing available upon request. The registration fee includes hard copies and a jump drive (electronic copies) of all class materials, Professiojnal MS-Word 2010 Procedure template available to be used from home for practice, beverages, lunch and mid-afternoon snack for each day.

The course is recognized by the Procedure Professionals Association (PPA) (www.ppaweb.org ) and is specifically designed to help procedure writers and planners develop or improve their skills in order to write administrative and technical content in a human factored manner. The course has been taught to a growing audience with approximately 3,450 in attendance.

Various industries are increasingly identifying human performance challenges resulting in negative trends in safety, quality and production. Inspection agencies such as the NRC, INPO, OSHA, and CSB, are identifying significant gaps in performance resulting from poorly written and insufficiently maintained procedures including weaknesses in procedure use and adherence guidance. As a result of these negative trends, industry leaders in the nuclear field came together at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and developed three key standards to reverse these trends:

- PPA-AP-907.001, Procedure Process Description

- PPA-AP-907.005, Procedure Writer's Manual

- INPO 11-003, Procedure and Work Instruction Use & Adherence

The three standards are widely used across the nuclear industry and are increasingly being adopted in the Transmission & Distribution, Gas & Electric, Refinery and Government areas. Despite the efforts to adopt these standards, inspection agencies and root cause analysis have continued to identify gaps in performance resulting from insufficiently trained staff who are required to develop procedures ad work instructions. As a result, human performance challenges continue to be imbedded during procedure and work instruction authoring with existing errors going unidentified.

Company management and staff who have attended this course include, Bruce Nuclear, Ontario Power Generation, Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO), Florida Power & Light (Nuclear) and Power Generation Division (Fossil Generation), St. Lucie, Turkey Point, Salem - Hope Creek, Three Mile Island, Oconee, South Texas Project (STP), Entergy (Transmission & Distribution), Pacific Gas & Electric, SCANA Energy, Grant County Public Utility District, Shaw/Areva Mox Services, Dow Chemical, Ergon Inc.,Callaway Nuclear, PP&L Susquehanna, and others.

We will accept applicants up until the start of the class if space permits.
