We are currently seeking an experienced supervisor with a strong background in virology methodology for the Virology Laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a clinical virology laboratory which performs traditional DFA and tissue culture and as well as 3-5 years supervisory experience in a virology lab. Additional experience doing molecular diagnostic assays for viruses would be very beneficial.

In this role the supervisor will be responsible for:
Supervising and coordinating operation and staff of a Laboratory discipline or shift.
Monitoring testing procedures and protocols used in the section.
Seeking and implementing solutions to issues relating to processing and data performance.
Participating in all QA/QC activities that affect Laboratory section and patient care.

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related degree, required.
Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or Cytotechnologist, as appropriate to area of assignment).
Minimum of six (6) years pertinent clinical laboratory experience subsequent to qualifying of which two (2) years have been spent working with in a clinical laboratory having a director at the doctorial level.
Knowledge of related theory, principles, practices, applicable instrumentation, analytical methods, quality control, statistical analysis, current government regulations and leadership.
