Job Description: The Project Controller supports Program Management to ensure profitable project execution of A projects for biotech and
pharmaceutical clients.
Major Responsibilities / Activities
The Project Controller is responsible for performing valid and structured
cost control according to standards specified in the NP project controlling manual.
Specifically:
Set up projects in accounting and project management systems
Conduct continuous audits to determine costs related to project
execution activity
Analyze cost data and organize into reports using Microsoft Excel and
project management software
Assist decision-making processes by recommending cost effective
alternatives to materials, methods and services provided to client
Provide Program Manager, project team, clients and US management with
periodic status reports specifying the price and profitability of services
and materials provided
Present financial information and recommendations to Program Managers
and Client Representatives in a clear and professional manner
Audit supplier financial systems and processes
Support global project governance strategy
Assist Business Support department with projects related to financial
processes, project controlling and risk management.
No direct management responsibility.
May be called upon to lead other Project Controllers and/or Project
Assistants in related tasks.
Basic Qualifications
Essential Functions, Minimum Education and Minimum Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of experience in project cost accounting
Effective oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to use a computer for email, Internet, word processing and
spreadsheets
Flexibility to work extended hours to support the business as required.
Ability to travel locally and abroad based on project requirements
(50%).
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the above Basic Qualifications, the following Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities are preferred:
Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA certification
3-5+ years of experience in engineering project cost accounting and
financial analysis
Work experience in a Life Science industry (biotech, pharmaceutical,
etc.)
Desire to travel extensively in order to work on project sites across
North America
Desire to travel internationally for training purposes
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other accounting and
project management software

Working Environment / Physical Requirements:
Working environment varies between office, manufacturing or research
environments depending upon the project assigned. Employee may be exposed
to noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, heat,
cold or chemicals in a client manufacturing or research environment. PPE
and safety training will be provided as required.
Physical requirements include the ability to drive a car and travel to
client facilities across North America.
