Position Opening

Good Harbor is seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in commercial nuclear security training. The position will support the establishment of a comprehensive commercial nuclear security training regime for the UAE. Good Harbor will plan, coordinate, develop, and in some cases deliver training courses and activities mirroring site-specific conditions to simulate the commercial nuclear power plant environment and will establish a methodology to incorporate modifications to site-specific conditions into future training scenarios. Good Harbor will also train UAE personnel as instructors for a core UAE training team capable of self-sufficient protective force training.

POSITION DETAIL

TITLE
Nuclear Security Training Director, Recruitment and Training
Incumbent must be able to pass a security clearance / background check.

LOCATION
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Seeking personnel who can provide a 2-year minimum commitment to the program.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Competitive salary based on experience plus expatriate housing, transportation, and health care

QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in a nuclear and/or security-related subject; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 7-10+ years commercial nuclear security experience, with experience writing documentation for training curricula, processes, and procedures
• Experience working in an international setting (Middle East preferred)
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic working environment on multiple projects across functional areas
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communications (both written and oral) skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist a newly formed UAE government agency to recruit, train, equip, qualify, and certify all armed and unarmed security personnel, watch persons, and other members of the Nuclear Safeguards and Security Program (NSSP)
• Develop personnel qualifications and equipment and weapon requirements for non-nuclear construction phase protective force
• Develop guidance for exercises and drills
• Develop plan for testing and validation process
• Ensure UAE personnel are able to assume operational security duties nine months prior to nuclear plant operations and will become self-sufficient in nuclear security training.
• Create a basic NSSP course for nuclear construction protective force personnel that builds progressively on their UAE-provided non-nuclear construction security training
• Arrange for international and/or specialized GHC training as needed
• Ensure local conditions and other associated issues are included in the training program
• Liaise with other government safety and security agencies as required
• Assist in client capacity building and conduct training as required
• Perform other duties as required or necessary
