Position Opening

Good Harbor is seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in commercial nuclear security, policy, and regulation. This position will support the development of a robust commercial nuclear security culture in the UAE early on in the development of their commercial nuclear power program. This culture includes the not only the appropriate creation, sharing, storage, and protection of classified and sensitive information, but also the characteristics, attitudes, and behaviors which support and enhance overall nuclear security.

POSITION DETAIL

TITLE
Nuclear Security Regulatory Director
Incumbent must be able to pass a security clearance / background check.

LOCATION
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Seeking personnel who can provide a 2-year minimum commitment to the program.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Competitive salary based on experience plus expatriate housing, transportation and health care

QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in nuclear and/or security-related subject; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 7-10+ years commercial nuclear security experience
• Knowledge of commercial nuclear security as well as international and national nuclear safety and security policy, regulations, and law
• Experience working in an international setting (especially Middle East) is advantageous
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic working environment on multiple projects across functional areas
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communications (both written and oral) skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist Nuclear Security Project Manager in all aspects of security regulation for the development of a new commercial nuclear energy enterprise
• Work closely with government regulatory/security authority to develop a practical security requirement set based upon national policy commitments and international and national agreements and law.
o Evaluate all UAE-signed international conventions and resolutions for applicability to nuclear security
o Conduct interviews with UAE government officials involved with agreements
o Develop a matrix of the security requirement set
o Evaluate nuclear regulatory law for nuclear security requirements and expectations
• Other responsibilities and duties as required.
