Position Opening

Good Harbor is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in nuclear engineering and/or nuclear science. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a related field, 15+ years of commercial nuclear security experience and be prepared to personally commit to living overseas. Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently with little guidance and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION DETAIL

TITLE
Nuclear Security Culture Principal
Incumbent must be able to pass a security clearance/background check.

LOCATION
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Seeking personnel who can provide a 2-year minimum commitment to the program.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Competitive salary based on experience plus expatriate housing, transportation and health care

QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced degree in a related field required
• 15+ years commercial nuclear security experience
• Ability to integrate knowledge into the development and execution of a world class nuclear power plant fleet
• Knowledge of attributes needed to work in a nuclear environment and ability to institutionalize these in a newly formed foreign government agency
• Clear understanding of established regulations and ability to adhere to regulations during pre-construction, construction and operational phases
• Experience working in an international setting (especially Middle East) is advantageous

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead development of a Nuclear Security Culture Plan. The International Atomic Energy Agency defines a nuclear security culture as “a set of characteristics, attributes and behaviors of individuals, organizations, and institutions which serve as a means to support and enhance nuclear security”
• Establish process and procedures in support of implementing the Nuclear Security Culture Plan
• Interface with other government organizations participating in the creation of an UAE nuclear power plant regime to ensure a strong collaborative nuclear culture environment
• Ensure integration of all nuclear culture elements within the Nuclear Safeguards and Security Program (NSSP)
• Independently evaluate a variety of different techniques, selecting the most secure, safe, efficient and cost effective procedures based on a select set of developed criteria
• Assist in the development of a world-class nuclear security program for a nuclear power plant fleet
• Coordinate with Good Harbor’s project management and team members on a daily basis in order to assist in the team’s delivery of multiple advisory services to the client
• Perform other duties as required
