This Engineer will prepare and/or:
• Preparation and/or review of licensing documents associated with Combined Operating License Applications (COLAs) according to 10CFR52.
• Environmental Reports, and Requests for Additional Information (RAIs)
• Requests for Additional Information (RAIs), Design Change Package
development for operating nuclear plants
• Preparation and/or review of Applicability Determinations, 10 CFR 50.59 Screening,
and Licensing Deviation Change Requests.
• Design Change Packages on occasion impact Technical Specifications occasion impact Technical Specifications; a review for impact on Tech Spec and Tech Spec Bases will be required for each DCP.
• Spec and Tech Spec Bases will be required for each DCP Provide assistance to other engineering disciplines with the preparation of ADs, 50.59 screens, and other licensing documents.

Position Duties / Responsibilities
SENIOR ENGINEER I
Plans and conducts independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises
New approaches to solving problems.
Working knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, the principles and practices of related technical areas and of coordinating work with other technical disciplines.
Understands the standard engineering work planning, scheduling and cost estimating, and conducts independent work requiring judgment in the application of engineering techniques.
Normally uses conventional approaches to technical problems encountered.
Provides technical direction and assigns work to engineers, designers, and drafters who assist on specific assignments
Basic Qualifications
1. At least 8 years engineering experience in nuclear power plant design and/or licensing.
2. Candidate must have a BS or MS in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering.
3. Demonstrated critical thinking, good communication skills and writing skills are a must.
4. Must be able to provide clear explanations of design attributes and requirements to client and Bechtel home office.
5. Must be able to understand, interpret and apply nuclear regulations including 10CFR52,10CFR50, Regulatory Guides, Standard Review Plans and Branch Technical Positions.
6. Must be able to interact professionally with client.
7. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent work requiring judgment in the application of engineering techniques required.
8. Must be able to use relevant engineering computer applications in addition to the standard Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Candidate must be capable of obtaining access to nuclear power plants.
10. Domestic or international travel may be required.
11. Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work and remain in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with developing COLA, FSAR ER and RAI documents.
2. Experience in general operating plant work activities, safety evaluations and design change packages.
3. Experience with preparation of 10 CFR 50.59 Screenings & Evaluations or the DOE equivalents in 10CFR830.
4. Specific knowledge of NSSS systems BWR/PWR a plus.
5. Experience of power plant design and nuclear power plant systems
