General Position Description:
The Project Manager, Field Construction performs as a Senior Technical Advisor and Site Project Manager for steam turbine retrofits, fleet outages and new installations. Develops proposals and contracts. Plans, organizes, integrates, and monitors resources such as sub-contractors, tools, and technical assistants to meet contractual requirements. Ensures problems and opportunities are focused on enhancing company’s long-term profitability.


Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Senior Technical Advisor
• Leads work and provides technical guidance and expertise in support of steam turbine retrofit projects, new installations, and fleet outages
• Supports STG start up activities, advises and approves STG and auxiliary system disassembly, repair, and assembly
• Troubleshoots STG operations
• Assists Key Account Managers in customer support activities

Site Project Manager
• Manages and supervises all phases of assigned project
• Negotiates and manages all contracts for labor, equipment, etc
• Supervises assigned Field Engineers
• Manages project budget and approves all expenses and negotiates change orders as required
• Develops and issues project turnover package to customer
• Develops and issues final completion and costing analysis to Manager, Field Construction
• Monitors communications to ensure timely response to customer questions; ensures issues are clearly understood and answered to the customer’s satisfaction
• Ensures all in-field activities are in compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures

Minimum Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
With Bachelor’s degree, 10 years active applicable field experience (STG) and project management experience with a Utility, OEM, or service organization
