E2 is currently accepting resumes for Safety Professionals for positions at DOE's Hanford facility.
2 year contract
Job Duties: Assist in the continued improvement and implementation of the Soil and Groundwater Remediation Project's Occupational Safety and Health Program and cognizant management requirements throughout the project. Specific duties include, but not limited to, the following: 1) Work with OS&H manager to implement strategies that will document potential workplace exposures or help define unknown conditions; 2) develop and integrate effective methods, practices, techniques, etc for controlling and eliminating existing or potential workplace hazards – especially as related to waste site remediation, construction, and Operations activities; 3) perform inspections and reviews of subcontractor work and operations to detect and help correct unsafe conditions; 4) establish and perform assessments and couple with an exposure monitoring plan to establish baseline and task specific hazard/exposure profiles; 5) review and approve work packages and Hanford specific task requirements (AJHA, JSA, HASP, etc.) to ensure compliance and employee safety; 6) review sub-tier contractor health and safety program for completeness and appropriateness to work assignment; 7) stay current with industrial safety and industrial hygiene policies and procedures; and 8) engage in cross contractor fact finding and dialogue to integrate process improvements leading to reduced injuries and exposures.
Required Qualifications: (Complete if there is no name (s) specified)) BA/BS degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience with 3 or more years of field or project-based industrial safety experience. Previous involvement in Department of Energy or government contractor systems and remediation work is a plus. Independent work experiences dealing with drilling or groundwater remediation, maintenance, and construction craft. Requires a strong background in the coordination, development, implementation and administration of industrial safety or industrial hygiene programs, and proven project responsibilities in environmental remediation or Construction work scopes.
Other Desirable Qualifications: (Complete if there is no name (s) specified) Waste Site Remediation OS&H experience preferred. Board of Certified Safety Professionals or Certified Industrial Hygienist certifications are highly desired. Experience with bargaining-unit work environments, conflict resolution, and craft training. Knowledge regarding and expectations of DOE’s Voluntary Protection Program, the Integrated Safety and Health Management System, the Job Safety Analysis, the Automated Job Hazard Analysis and the Construction Standard (29CFR1926)
