Position Responsibilities:

Seismic Engineer Supports has Responsibility for implementation of Seismic Design of Piping, Raceway, & HVAC Duct (Commodity) Supports. Technical Responsibility includes design and qualification of Supports for the DCS MFFF facility. A commodity support is a seismic load carrying structure that transfers loads from the Piping, Electrical Raceway or HVAC Duct to the building structure. Components to be qualified include Attachments (means of restraining the commodity), structural frame members and Base Plates or Embed Plates using computerized structural analysis programs including STAAD.

Responsiblities include coordination of efforts with other seismic support engineers performing similar work and design coordination with other design disciplines by review of the model representation of the designs in Plant Design System (PDS) and development of qualified support designs prepared by Support Modeler.

Required Qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years direct experience in nuclear or power generation work
-Bachelor of Science in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
-Demonstrated Experience and working knowledge of Nuclear Piping Supports and or Nuclear Raceway (Cable Tray and Conduit ) support design requirements including the following codes and standards: ASME/ANSI B31.3 Process Piping, ANSI/AISC N690 Design Fab & Erection Safety Related Steel Structures, ASCE -4 Seismic Analysis of Safety Related Nuclear Structures, AISI section 2.2.37 ASCE 8 section 2.2.45
-Demonstrated experience with STAAD III Structural Analysis and Design or GT STRUDL required

Desired Qualifications:
-Master of Science in Structural or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
-Professional Engineer certification preferred or demonstrated continuing technical expertise such as active membership and publication in Technical Society Experience with ANSYS and GTSTRUDL desirable, STAAD III essential ,/B>
