Site Manager (Palisades Nuclear Plant – Covert, MI)

Additional: Relocation included. Per Diem and/or Living Expenses NOT included. Local candidates preferred.

Job Description:

• Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in all phases of nuclear plant maintenance, repair and replacement of all plant machinery.
• Ensure all on site personnel comply with the site’s Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures and Regulations.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise site functions like scheduling, engineering, material control and staffing.
• Assist the client and Project Manager to identify and analyze deficiencies and provide alternative to resolve.
• Establish working budget and responsible for monitoring cost with progress reports.
• Provides training as required.
• Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product.
• Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that affect the plant operations, and comply with Federal regulations and company safety policies and practices to promote safety awareness in the plant.
• Supervise workers in performing root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, taking required corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions.
• Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
• Provides the appropriate oversight and governance to assure consistent planning, scheduling and implementation of major projects.
• Ensures safe, efficient operation of all plant machinery and keep document all work performed.
• Assures a consistent process for project estimating, scheduling and implementation.

Basic Requirements:

• Commercial Nuclear plant experience, successful outage record and experience with union craft.
• 10+ years relevant construction/maintenance management experience.
• Working knowledge of planning/scheduling for a site, problem solving and identify priorities.
• Strong human relation skills are required to manage diverse workforce of professionals, crafts, and administrative support staff.
• Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
• Significant background in the management and execution of small and large construction/maintenance projects.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with project controls, planning, scheduling and estimating, preferably at the field or site level.
• Strong commitment and passion for safety

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• PMP certification.
