Position Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for miscellaneous engineering duties, coordination and oversight of the procurement of a wide variety of special order HVAC equipment required for installation in the MOX Services Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF). The individual will: Develop and/or review technical and procurement specifications and commercial grade dedication documents for nuclear quality and commercially available HVAC equipment for use in the MFFF.
• Develop, prepare and execute custom strategies for procurement of Engineered equipment and industry standard items in a fast-paced construction environment, including procurements from third party suppliers.
• Act as the Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) for specific equipment procurements. The Subcontract Technical Representative is the point of contact within the Engineering Department for planning of the procurements, leading the proposal technical evaluation team, interfacing with subcontractors to review submittals, resolve issues, evaluate progress, and monitor adequacy of technical performance. Interfacing and communicating with others and tracking, reporting status, and facilitating resolution of open requests, issues and needs are a core function of the STR.
• Perform follow-on engineering support functions after delivery and installation of equipment, including on-going supplier interface and resolution of technical and quality issues through final acceptance testing.
• Coordinate team members in the resolution of technical, schedule and quality issues.
• Direct others supporting work efforts with regard to priorities, schedule need, and technical issues of importance.

The individual will interface with multiple organizations/disciplines within MOX Services, such as structural and mechanical engineering, HVAC designers, construction planners and supervision, Procurement, QC Surveillance and QC Receiving, and Quality Assurance. This individual may direct others in the performance of related duties, and must be able to effectively lead as well as coordinate a multi-organization team effort. Periodic travel will be required.


Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or years of experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience that must be related to design, oversight of procurement and/or fabrication of HVAC engineered equipment such as centrifugal and in-line fans, air handling units, heaters, chilled water coils and specialty items, dampers, humidifiers, etc.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be organized, pay attention to detail and provide consistent follow-up on issues.
• Possesses self-start initiative and a positive teamwork attitude toward execution of assignments.
• Must have prior experience in leading multi-discipline or multi-organizational teams in a fast paced, professional environment.
• Competent in the use of personal computers using common workplace software applications associated with Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Word and Excel.
• Must be willing to travel as the needs of the position and assignments dictate.


Desired Qualifications:
• Preference will be extended to candidates with significant experience in Supplier technical oversight related to major equipment procurement, particularly in the nuclear industry.
• Familiarization with QA provisions typically applied to work performed for the nuclear industry, specifically NQA-1 and/or 10CFR 50 Appendix B.
• Flexibility and an ability to develop, promote and defend innovative solutions.
• Prior nuclear experience is highly desired and preferred.
