SUMMARY: BNL Technical Services, LLC is seeking experienced, and knowledgeable candidates for Nuclear Safety Basis Engineer/USQ EVALUATOR positions.

JOB DUTIES: Review 10 CFR 830 USQ Process product documents for accuracy, correctness, and quality, with timely feedback to originators (change recommendations, performance of next level of evaluation, etc.). Development of lessons learned where applicable. Prepare, review, and approve Hanford customer’s 10 CFR 830 USQ Process evaluations as assigned. Attend Plant Review Committee meetings to defend USQ Process product documents. Recommend enhancements to preparation of USQ Process evaluations. Recommend enhancements to Hanford customer’s USQ Process implementing requirements and evaluation guidance. Support annual update of the Master Documented Safety Analysis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experienced and proficient at performing USQ Determinations, including Categorical Exclusions and USQ assessments with sufficient training, experience, and qualification to prepare and/or independently review USQ Screenings and Determinations. A minimum of 3 years experience in the nuclear industry (commercial or government) preparing documented safety analyses and/or USQ screens and determinations is required. Also required: Detailed knowledge in all aspects of the DOE USQ process.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates with BS Degree in science or engineering preferred. Candidates with Hanford Tank Farms experience and/or a minimum of three (3) years at another DOE Weapons Complex Facility (i.e., Savannah River, Rocky Flats, Oakridge, Los Alamos, other Hanford Site projects, etc.) strongly preferred.
