Contract / Temp to Perm / Permanent: Contract
Manager of Organizational Learning in the Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit.in in PA, specializes in product development, systems engineering, component design, equipment manufacturing, and project management for new nuclear power plants worldwide.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead the development and implementation of the Lessons Learned and Operating Experience process throughout the Nuclear Power Plants business unit. In addition, actively interface with Projects, Engineering, Supply Chain, Nuclear Component Manufacturing and Quality to ensure continuous learning and implement process improvement procedures. Furthermore, this position will be expected to deploy industry leading techniques to drive Organizational Learning across a wide ray of products, projects and services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead analyzes of Lessons Learned and Operating Experience utilized both internally and externally.
• Facilitate the collection, distribution, implementation and institutionalization of Lessons Learned and Operating Experience.
• Act as change agent to lead a sustainable continuous improvement organization culture by directing design, development, and execution of required training, communication, and implementation of programs. Develop and deliver presentations, executive briefings, company policies, and communications as well as management training sessions at corporate and/or Business Unit level.
• Interface with other functional groups to share best practices and to assure business process improvements developed on-site are consistent with the goals of the business unit
• Track and report progress against established milestones and metrics as assigned
• As required, identify and conduct feasibility studies of emerging technologies in both business and manufacturing processes.
• Lead and participate in benchmarking exercises with customers, suppliers and diverse industry companies.
• Collect and deploy best practices across a diverse, global company.
• Integrate organizational learning process/program with other improvement toolsets to create a robust, business-wide continuous improvement program.
Specific Desired Skills
A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Engineering. Masters degree preferred.
• Typically, 10-15 years of applicable experience required. Previous management experience is highly desired.
• Nuclear industry experience a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of business process improvement principles such as Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, 5 S, Human Performance, Performance Management, etc.
• Experience/knowledge of learning organizations including deployment of learning and Operational Excellence highly desirable. Direct experience with implementation of a complex organizational learning process.
