Our client in the power generation industry is looking for an Assembly Supervisor for their manufacturing facility. The candidate must have experience in a heavy/large equipment manufacturing environment.

Leads, coaches, and empowers team members in a positive manner to maximize their potential and their contributions to key performance goals for the company

Supervises the activities of production team members in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment to ensure that production requirements and safety and quality standards are met

Assists in production scheduling to ensure optimal utilization of equipment and people for best possible results

Manages day-to-day operations to comply with all applicable safety laws and regulations, with EHS programs and standards, and with applicable employment laws and company people processes
Defines, implements and uses performance indicators to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements for assigned area are met and to improve performance, and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position may require significant international travel in the first twelve (12) months for in-depth technical training (6 month training in Europe)
High school diploma or GED
Associate degree preferred
At least five (5) years experience in assembling, preferably in a heavy equipment/industrial manufacturing setting
At least two (2) years of experience in CNC machining
At least four (4) years of experience in managing of manufacturing teams
At least three (3) years of experience in a company with a strong safety culture
Solid computer skills including e-mail, Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and/or SAP
Knowledge and previous use of continuous improvement/SPC tools
Ability to be open and transparent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and execute
Ability to coach team members in developing problem analysis and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to adapt, be flexible, and maintain enthusiasm and focus under the demands of a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and often changing environment
Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the English language
Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent computer use; frequent telephone use; some lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.
