SR Engineers

External Description :

Conduct transmission system planning and generation interconnection studies. Understand power system modeling, conducting power system load flow and stability analysis, reliability testing, and short circuit studies.

Support regulatory process of electric transmission projects and generator interconnections. Provide leadership, technical advice, and training to junior engineers and designers. Interface with consultants, generation developers, and vendors on technical studies. Participate in public hearings and regulatory proceedings. Represent the company in the regional forums. Perform other duties as assigned.

External Qualifications :

Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer (candidates not holding a PE registration may be considered for the position of Transmission Planner). Minimum of 5 years experience in power system planning, operation or design is required. Knowledge of power system modeling (powerflow, stability and short circuit) is required. Experience as a witness in regulatory proceedings is a plus. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Related electric utility experience and hands on experience using planning software, i.e., GE UPSLF or PTI-PSS / E.
