Description

Leads, coaches, and empowers team members in a positive manner to maximize their potential and their contributions to key performance goals for the company
Specifies detailed layout plans, utility requirements, production tools, and handling fixtures for machining and assembly of steam turbine casings
Supports manufacturing engineering and establishes and implements manufacturing processes
Participates in the selection of candidates for manufacturing positions in their area of operations and supports the transfer of technology and training of personnel
Mitigates all conceivable risks prior to first manufacturing job, upholds and participates in the company's quality and EHS programs, and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position will require major international travel in the first twelve (12) months for in-depth technical training (6 months training in Europe)
Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
At least five (5) years of experience in the manufacturing of heavy power plant related products
At least five (5) years of experience in managing or supervising employees
Solid knowledge in the machining and assembly of steam turbines
Advanced experience in production facility infrastructure
Solid knowledge of tool technology data calculation, material codes and machining process related parameters
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills based on a structured, disciplined and rigorous approach
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and CAD
Ability to coach team members in developing problem analysis and problem solving skills
Capability to understand operational requirements and to drive for the definition and/or implementation of solutions
Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and in a multicultural environment
Demonstrated ability to adapt, be flexible, and maintain enthusiasm and focus under the demands of a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and often changing environment
Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the English language
Ability to read, write, understand and clearly speak the French and/or German language preferred
Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent computer use; frequent telephone use; some lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.
