Contract / Temp to Perm / Permanent: Contract

G.D. Barri is lookig for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to work for a long contract in Aiken, SC with the MOX project.

We pay hourly rate + PD + a trip home per month + vacations + holidays + travel.

Position Responsibilities:
Senior Electrical Engineer responsible to the Lead Electrical Engineer to perform engineering activties necessary to complete the Electrical Design for the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF). Electrical systems included under the engineers scope of work are 13.8kV, 4.16kV, 480 Volt, 120 Vac vital, 125Vdc, 120/240 Vac power, diesel generators, fire detection, plant lighting, heat tracing, grounding and lightning protection, communications and raceway. Must be able to prepare procurement and installation specifications for the Electrical System identified above. Must be able to interact and direct the Electrical Design Staff. Must be able to work closely with other technical disciplines. Will be required to both prepare procurement and construction specifications for electrical equipment and electrical installation as well as review sections written by colleauges. Must perform electrical analysis and calculations to verify and validate the design of the Electrical power systems (AC and DC) for the MOX facility.


Required Qualifications:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 10 years design experience on power plant or large industrial facility projects. Field construction interface experience on large industrial facility or power plant projects. Knowledge of commercially available power system analysis software. Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC). Basic computer skills in Access, Word and Excel. Past experience and capability of performing medium and low voltage power system studies; transient analysis, load flow studies, fault current analysis and voltage drop calculations. Capable of supervising and reviewing work of designers and less senior engineers. Capable of writing equipment purchase specifications and performing bid analysis. Capable of performing relay/breaker setting calculations and coordination studies.


Desired Qualifications:
Professional Engineering License in South Carolina or ability to obtain license within 6 months. Familiararity with ETAP for electrical system analysis.

Familiarity with NRC regulatory guidelines for class 1E systems, IEEE -308, -384, -379 and -603
