Contract / Temp to Perm / Permanent: Contract
G.D. Barri is looking for Procurement Engineer with NUCLEAR experience to work for a long contract in Aiken, SC.
We pay hourly rate + PD + a trip home per month + vacations + holidays + travel.
Position Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for miscellaneous engineering duties, tracking and coordination, and oversight of the fabrication of MOX Services Supports.
The individual will:
Develop scope packages to send to the Supports Supplier, to define which support drawings are included in each package and the technical requirements that are applicable
Track and coordinate schedules for fabricated support deliveries between the Supports Supplier and MOX Services
Provide research and coordination of resolutions of issues dealing with design, fabrication, testing/inspection and delivery of Supports as required to ensure timely construction installation
Evaluate emerging issues to determine if clarifications or design changes are appropriate responses.
Review, assist and/or initiate ECRs (design changes) to resolve issues and coordinate transmittal of design information required for fabrication and/or testing.
Coordinate and/or perform the review of Fabrication and Suppliers documentation, as may be required
Provide status and updates to supervision and management
Complete other tasks as may be assigned
The individual will interface with multiple organizations/disciplines within MOX Services, such as QA/QC, structural and mechanical engineering, support designers, construction planners and MOX supervision, as well as Supplier/fabrication supervision.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or years of experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience that must be related to design, oversight of procurement and/or fabrication of engineered supports or related item
Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be very organized, pay attention to detail and provide consistent follow-up on issues.
Possesses self-start initiative and a positive teamwork attitude toward execution of assignments.
Must have a minimum three (3) years experience working in the nuclear field related to DOE or commercial nuclear power facilities or commercial fuel fabrication facilities.
Must be willing to travel as the needs of the position and arising issues dictate.
Competent and experienced in the use of personal computers, using common workplace software applications associated with Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Excel).
Desired Qualifications:
Working familiarity with AWS D1.1 and 1.6, and ASTM/ASME standards for 304L stainless steel or ability to learn code requirements in a timely manner.
Prior nuclear experience is highly desired and preferred
Experience with coordination of fabrications to support construction installation schedules is also highly desired.
