Contract / Temp to Perm / Permanent: Contract
NPD (Nuclear Plant Development) Staff Augment – Environmental Specialist. Job Description: This position reports to the Supervisor - NPD Environmental Permitting, and is responsible for providing environmental leadership for the deployment of new nuclear generating facilities in the Carolinas and Florida. Responsibilities: ---The first principle area of responsibility is support of the NRC review process of the Environmental Report (ER) and associated sections of the FSAR (and other COL application documents). This will continue through the NRC's Request-for Additional-Information (RAI) phase and Atomic Safety & Licensing Board (ASLB) mandatory hearings, until the COL is issued for both Harris and Levy Nuclear Plants. ---The second principle area of responsibility includes the management and oversight of environmental permits and license activities associated with the selected sites. As site development continues, this position would support development of the ODCM (Offsite Dose Calculation Manual), Radiological Environmental Monitoring Program REMP/RETS, and effluent monitoring programs. ---The selected individual position must remain cognizant and knowledgeable of associated environmental regulations/permits/approvals/notifications for nuclear power plant citing issues and for subsequent construction and power operation.
