General Job Function: Responsible for all project management processes on low complexity projects, or on a portion (for example, work package) of a moderate complexity project. Requires leading small teams (average <10 team members), which may include project controls. As experience and capability increase, may be assigned to several low-complexity projects or moderate complexity work packages simultaneously. Support proposal process for low complexity projects, as assigned. May be assigned overall Project Manager responsibility of a moderate complexity project in a deputy capacity (with direct guidance of an Advanced Project Manager or higher). Responsibilities may include managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. May coach and review the work of lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop positive relationships with team, customer, suppliers, Westinghouse in-country representation (for international projects), and other stakeholders to drive project to successful completion.
  • Complete all aspects of initiating and planning processes including authoring charters and project management plans which include developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines as well as, risk and stakeholder registers.
  • Based on project management plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members as needed to complete the work.
  • Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process.
  • Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status.
  • Develop or oversee project records in standard databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally.
  • Identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools.
  • Perform final project quality assessment and report out.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons learned, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement or recovery opportunities that will promote successful project delivery.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related products or services.
  • Evaluates opportunities for implementation of efficiency and/or cost improvement efforts such as simplification, process improvement and driving unnecessary cost out of processes.
  • Demonstrate and share knowledge and effective use of industry standard tools and practices such as Human Performance, Nuclear Safety Culture, CAPAL Corrective Actions Program and Learning Clocks.
  • Understand and promote the safety culture in the company by placing safety as a top priority.
  • Understand and apply the Westinghouse quality processes and procedures and ensure compliance with company Quality Management System.
  • Understand and proactively use the established company tools for capturing non-conformities and provide suggestions for improvement of the company processes.
  • Comply with the company procedures for non-disclosure of both internal and external proprietary information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Manufacturing or related technical discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction
  • Westinghouse Project Manager qualification completed. For external candidate, will complete project manager qualification within designated time period. Exemptions provided based on prior training and work experience. Project controls-related certification (scheduling, estimating, earned value, risk, etc.) will be viewed as a plus.
