Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Health and Safety Technician 4 opportunity in Los Alamos, NM at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Local Candidates Preferred.
Citizenship: United States Citizenship is required
Work Location: 100% Onsite (PF-4 TA-55) in Santa Fe/Albuquerque area.
Duration: Job expected to run through December 2024 with possibility of extension.
Schedule: 4-10s with opportunity for OT
Clearance: No Clearance required.

Education:
Requires a high school diploma and four-to-six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, additional training, certification, and/or education may be expected, including an associate's degree and graduation from technical institutions.

Qualifications:
Health and safety technician 4 is considered a senior skilled level.

Applies extensive knowledge and skills to complete specialized tasks and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Comprehensive understanding of general and technical aspects of the job.
Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused, but usually require contributions of original work.
Usually includes some responsibility for coordination and participation in developing the final product working with the requestor.
Incumbent develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, and independence.
Contributions are of sufficient value to have some impact on the outcome of the entire group accomplishments.
Work is performed without appreciable direction.

Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results. Incumbent exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, which may be completed without established procedures.

IH and Safety Experience, dealt with sampling IH mitigations, understanding PPE
Computer with Computers
Personable when dealing with the workforce

Description
The health and safety technician 4 provides support to line managers and facility personnel by assisting health and safety professionals with collection of personnel air samples, swipe and bulk sampling, area sampling, real-time sampling, and inspection of areas or review of operations to ensure compliance with Laboratory and regulatory requirements. This includes those positions in which the primary function is providing technical support associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential health and safety hazards, or the manipulation of data associated with those hazards.

Duties
The H/S Technician may also assist with facilitating implementation of health and safety requirements. Work may include field, laboratory, and/or data management activities. Individual assignments and positions may differ in emphasis. To accomplish this function, considerable skill is usually necessary in related fields, such as mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, industrial hygiene, and health physics.
