Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, or gaseous materials and substances for purposes such as quality control, process control, product development, or determining conformity to specifications. This role will also work with research and engineering personnel to facilitate laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:
� Delivery of high-pressure cylinders and setup.
� Operate saws, drills, grinders, tap and dies, and other handheld tools.
� Understanding of mechanical drawings and equipment breakdown lists.
� Maintains and services equipment as assigned per manufacturers specifications.
� Inspect and troubleshoot R&D equipment and systems.
� Perform set-ups and adjusting of various types of laboratory equipment if assigned to a specific lab.
� Install gas distribution devices such as regulators, protocol stations, pressure safety devices, and check valves once the skill level has been demonstrated.
� Coordinating and assisting in experimental tests, installation, and equipment maintenance.
� Aids the Q/A representative in performing pressure testing on various pressurized systems and other inspection activities once skill level promotes efficiency.
� Communicate with research and technical trade staff on specific job tasks.
� Willingness to be on call to provide essential support during unattended operations.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
� Associate degree or high school diploma
� Minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience.
� Specific training and thorough knowledge in the area of Laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, mechanical design and installation.
� Experience with Swagelok type stainless steel tubing installation, bending and component selection or equivalent hydraulic/gas/plumbing systems.
� Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract.
� United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify.
