Senior Principal Startup Engineer - Aiken, SC with SRNS

DUTIES
Perform and document the results of startup tests performed in accordance with procedures, acceptance standards, and industry procedures. Plan and setup tests.

Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of startup or testing for a project exercising independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, substantial adaption, and modification of standard techniques, guidelines, procedures, and criteria.

Perform detailed design reviews and develop commissioning test documentation for projects.

Review designs for plant operability, safety and jobsite commissioning. Assist with the preparation of operations manuals. Plan, guide or prepare project administrative and technical documents as required for startup, maintenance, operations or testing.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at different supplier locations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BS with 10-14 years direct experience or MS with 10-13 years of direct experience. Alternate combination of experience/qualification & certification will be considered where candidate does not have a degree.

Experience/Skills:

Personnel shall have technical knowledge of Startup Testing, including experience working in the following technical areas/labor categories:
Conduct of Startup Testing

Design reviews
Procedure development
Test Execution
Conduct of Operations Conduct of Engineering Conduct of Maintenance

Startup Testing Execution qualification(s) Level II or III, is preferred.
Demonstrated previous experience with the use and implementation of Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards, or equivalent.
Demonstrated previous experience in developing, reviewing, approval and presenting Technical Work Documents is preferred.
Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
Demonstrated a minimum of 1 year of recent testing experience through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.

Work Hours: A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine appropriate schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.

Area Security Access: Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. Supplier shall possess a positive FOCI determination from DOE which includes the Q security clearance level. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties.

After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on work assignments. Candidate who has had an active Q clearance within the past two years is preferred.

Validation:

Offeror must identify sub-tier company if applicable with proposal. (Reference BOA Article regarding Limitations on Subcontracting.)
Reference check to evaluate performance capability may occur.

Candidate is actively supporting SRNS via full-service employment or a staff augmentation task order agreement (includes sub-tier agreements).
