URS is currently seeking an AIR FIELD ELECTRICIAN.
This is a contingent position dependent upon the award of a contract.

Assures airfield lighting and high voltage distribution systems are operational and providing first response to malfunctioning or inoperative equipment/systems and related electronic controls and sensors including programmable logic controllers (PLC).

Inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and performs preventive maintenance when necessary.
Carries or otherwise transports tool box and/or cable, fixtures and other materials weighing up to 80 pounds.

Checks electrical equipment in utility building, e.g., switchgear (volts, amperages), emergency generator, battery room and indicating lights of master control panel and assures that high-voltage distribution feeders are energized.

If planned outage is underway ensures work is completed before restoring power, removes tags as dictated by Authority directives and advises his/her immediate Supervisor.

Requirements:
• US citizenship
• *Current Passport not to expire one year of deployment.
*"Clearable"- National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) OR by possessing an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• *PHYSICAL FITNESS: Must be medically qualified.
*Able to travel, live and work overseas for a period of one year, single status.
• This position requires ten (10) years of appropriate experience working with transformers, connections, operations, and parallel and series circuits to perform journeyman-level work including recognizing excessive current flow, taking high-voltage feeders off-line, determining the reasons for tripped breakers, performing similar tasks to assure operation of high-voltage distribution and lighting systems, and otherwise maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, subsystems and equipment.
• Must be proficient in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a Modular Integrated Mobile Power System (MIMPS), part number 2335111122: Input/output 400-230 VAC, 3-phase, 50Hz; Critical Load Output 208/120 VAC, 3-Phase, 50Hz.
One year of journeyman-level experience must demonstrate primary responsibility for service and emergency procedures to make decisions and take or direct action(s) to maintain or restore service until relieved.
• Candidates must have a valid State driver's license.
The Airfield Electrician must have ADB/Siemans AF lighting Training.

Substitution of Education for Experience.
Four years of approved apprenticeship training in the occupation of the position to be filled and one year of practical trade experience may be substituted for five years of required experience. Four years of practical trade experience and 240 hours of vocational training may also meet 5 of the 10 years of the required qualification requirements for this position.

Preferred Qualifications.
Master Electrician License, other electrical related certifications and licenses, experience working safely on airfield, shift work, and communication by two-way radio. Familiar with
the manufacturer, Tactical Power Systems Corporation.
