Job Description (What will candidate be doing day in and day out)?:
Assists in preparing cost data for proposals and contract negotiations. Develops quantity takeoffs for a discipline or specialty using defined documents or undefined scope assumptions. Verifies quantities provided by others. Develops and applies unit rates (cost and Job-hours) to quantity takeoffs and to otherwise develop quantities within a discipline or other specialty. Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures. Assists in developing and implementing requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports. Performs performance monitoring and control functions for construction contracts. Independently provides financial reporting and trending, with oversight, for the field cost control functions. Performs subcontract quantity tracking and cost controls with input for reporting of field related progress. Provides input and analysis of Weekly and Monthly Progress reports on quantity, performance and cost related issues. Reports to Field Cost Control Manager
Candidate Qualifications:
Experience performing quantity takeoffs, and skilled in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports.
Skilled in oral and written communication along with strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
Minimum experience required is 5 years.
Skills in MS Excel Experience in dealing independently with contractors on the issues of cost, quantity measurement, ear n value analysis, and manpower reporting.
Must: Experience performing quantity takeoffs, determinations and mathematical and financial reports
Must: Knowledge of engineering and construction management
