Description
Our clients Refinery Maintenance (Stationary Equipment Reliability) Department has a challenging and rewarding opportunity available for a Reliability Inspector. As the successful candidate, you will assure refinery tanks, piping and equipment is inspected during turnarounds, capital construction projects, and for routine maintenance in accordance with industry codes and Husky requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to build upon your technical expertise and experience to:
•Inspect refinery tanks, equipment and piping as a Certified API inspector
•Write reports and make repair recommendations
•Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations to see that equipment is opened in a logical and efficient manner and the inspection/repair report is available quickly for planning purposes.
•Coordinate and direct daily activities of outside inspection contractors during API 653 and other inspections, turnarounds and special activities.
•Independently inspect and monitor all repair and construction work to be certain it is being done per the plans and adheres to all specifications and codes required.
•Work with engineers to determine repair methods
•Monitor and report on the activities and quality of contractors in conjunction with their QA/QC representative.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5 years related experience
•American Petroleum Institute (API) 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Certificate
•API-653 Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector
•Previously or currently hold Non-Destructive Testing Certification in PT, MT, RT, an UT
•3 years minimum of refinery experience inspecting piping systems and atmospheric tanks
•Minimum of three years API 653 reliability inspection experience encompassing construction, inservice and reconstruction of atmospheric tanks, preferably refinery experience.
•Previous experience in refinery turnarounds
•Have a strong working knowledge of oil and gas industry codes, standards and jurisdictional regulation (ASME, API, ANSI, & NB codes)
•Strong report writing skills
•Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience using AutoCAD and PCMS would be a definite asset.
•Read and draw isometric drawings
•Possess knowledge in the experience with safe work practices in an oil refinery environment accompanied by a superior safety attitude
•Have exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
•Possess superior analytical skills to identify key issues based on relevant data and provide appropriate solutions/recommendations
•Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
The following qualifications/certifications would be an asset:
•American Petroleum Institute (API) 570 Piping Inspector Certificate
•American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector
•Certified AWS CWI
