Contract / Temp to Perm / Permanent: Contract
Startup Engineer Nightshift Lead - Bedford, KY -The Lead Nightshift Engineer will be assigned systems on the project for which he will have full responsibility for commissioning. This will require coordinating with electrical, instrumentation and control systems disciplines within the startup organization to complete all required testing from component level through integrated operation with the rest of the facility; -Development of documentation for system testing and turnover including scoping of drawings and Teamworks as required, preparing system preoperational testing procedures and integrated system/unit test procedures and other similar required documents; -Prepare, award and administer specialty subcontracts as required to support commissioning activities (i.e.: HVAC balancing, fire protection commissioning, emissions testing, etc.) -Prepare system preoperational test procedures for assigned systems. Complete testing per STCP's, SWPP's, Preop procedures and other specific procedures which may be required to be prepared in this position. Complete all test records, data sheets, etc. to fully document testing activities; -Prepare system turnover packages in accordance with project procedures by assembling and reviewing all system test documentation (all disciplines) for adequacy and completeness; -Prepare preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for maintaining equipment once it has been commissioned. Complete long term storage and maintenance requirements on equipment following turnover from construction to startup prior to when it is commissioned. Fully document these activities and submit permanent records for incorporation in the maintenance database; -Coordinate with and provide direction to supplier Technical Assistants to complete commissioning of vendor supplied equipment. Monitor supplier TA activities to ensure proper charging of TA time (i.e.: ensure Client is not charged for TA time spent addressing the vendor's own issues). Plan work accordingly and control the expenditure of TA time to stay within the budget constraints for each PO; -Provide input to engineering on revisions required to system descriptions, vendor operating and maintenance manuals, etc. based on review of documents during development of the preoperational test procedures and executing of the commissioning to ensure all such documents are consistent; Prepare FCN/FCR/SFR/NCR/DR's as required to document as-built conditions and/or properly resolve deficiencies; - Prepare detailed startup plans for assigned project system commissioning activities, integrate all discipline activities into these plans; Provide input and updates to project controls as required to maintain accuracy and progress of project schedules, QURR and other progress tracking tools; -Supervise field non-manual personnel as required to perform assigned tasks; -Supervise field manual craft as required to perform assigned tasks; monitor and control craft performance and be accountable to the performance factor as reported by the QURR; -Participate in system turnover walkdowns, both Construction and Client turnovers; initiate, track and resolve punchlist items for assigned areas of responsibility; -Work hours as required, including shiftwork, overtime, weekends and holidays as necessary to support the project; -Perform other duties as directed in support of project activities; - Expected assignment duration is approximately 1 month in project office FREU followed by 11 months at the jobsite near Bedford Ky. The project is 750MWe Pulverized coal power station with extensive emission control systems (SCR, dry ESP,baghouse, wet scrubber, wet ESP,FGD).
JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or a professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized licensing board, or a minimum of 10 years experince in commissioning and startup of large power plants.
-A minimum of two years solid fuel fired power station experience in operations or commissioning. - A minimum of 5 years commissioning experience in a mechanical discipline -Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to bulk solid fuel fired power stations such as ASME B20.1. -Strong oral and written communication skills in English -Strong interpersonal skills -Must have the riight to wok in the United States.
