2 Process Engineers needed at a site that manufactures chemical intermediates used to make Nylon 6,6. The processes are complex and utilize several hazardous chemicals including but not limited to Hydrogen Cyanide, Ammonia, Sodium metal and Butadiene. The facilities were built in the ‘60s and ‘70s and have undergone several expansions and enhancements since that time. The site’s safety record is excellent.

The chosen candidates will assist in examining and revalidating the equipment’s over-pressure protection. The chosen Process Engineers will work with Engineering, Maintenance and Operations personnel at the site using forms and procedures provided by the company to examine several over-pressure protection devices (primarily relief valves and rupture disks) and the equipment they protect to insure that:
1) The equipment is being adequately protected
2) That there is excellent documentation to support #1 above
3) Deficiencies (if any) are found and meaningful recommendations are made to correct them.

Critical Skills: Working knowledge of over-pressure protection as described in API 520, API 521 pts 1&2, API 2000 and ASME Section VIII; familiarity with Excel spreadsheets.
Desirable skills: ASPEN modeling, fluid dynamics, DIERS methodology

Suitable candidates for this role will have relevant engineering qualifications and experience preferably in the chemical industry.
