Job Description: Coordinates and performs welding engineering activities on large subsea projects. These project include the manufacture of subsea wellheads, trees, manifolds, control systems and interconnecting piping.
Serve as an active participant on the project management team.
Review technical tender documents and negotiates concessions with customer as needed.
Write project specific Welding Design Basis document which reflects both internal and customer requirements.
Write project specific specifications to clarify and communicate new requirements to Engineering and Manufacturing.
Provide training and/or training tools for Engineering and Manufacturing as needed to raise awareness of special project requirements.
Interface with customer on all welding related issues Participate in design reviews to make sure designs are optimized for welding and that customer requirements are being reflected in bills of material by the assignment of proper welding specifications.
Interface with manufacturing plants and vendor facilities to make sure they are aware of their scope of supply and all customer specific requirements related to that scope of supply.
Interface with manufacturing plants and vendor facilities to make sure that welding procedures are being qualified as needed.
Review welding procedures and coordinate the creation of weld maps and welding books for all phases of the project.
Coordinate customer or third party review of weld procedures and other welding documents
