Job Description: Conversion Facility (Coal-to-liquids) Engineer
Summary:
This position serves as the company’s technical expert for all technology and engineering for coal to liquids, CO2 sequestration, pipeline and compression activities, and other emerging technologies in this field.
Recommends relevant technology packages for specific feedstock and outputs so that the business developer can adequately prepare economic models to assess projects and their valuations.
Special Skills:
Demonstrated analytical skills including a thorough understanding and application of modeling and simulations; Chemical refinery processes, catalyst design, gasification technologies, and product upgrade technologies (hydrocracking, etc.).
Computer skills:
Interven, GT Pro, MS Project, AutoCAD, Word, Excel.
Additional skills:
Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Experience:
Five to seven years in technical evaluation within the energy industry (preferably the chemical and/or refining industry) and knowledge of latest technologies in pipeline and compression equipment to facilitate analysis of CO2 sequestration or EOR offtake agreements; firm understanding of water systems and water treatment systems.
Education:
Bachelor’s of Science, Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Geo-Chemistry); MBA or business skills and experience helpful.
Position Location:
Corporate office in Houston, Texas
Travel:
Some business travel required.
