Millwright/Industrial Mechanic
Newberry Springs, CA, US

Local Candidates Only - No Per Diem

Pay Range Commensurate to Experience:
Min: $30 to $40

Schedule: Weekend Flexibility (Usually 3-day weekend every other week), Alternative Work Schedule (12 hours per day, 10 hours Regular Pay, 2 hours overtime). Worked Holidays at Double-time and one half for 12-hour shift.

Company Description:

Corporate office and team is located in Hesperia, CA and the project site is located in Newberry Springs, CA. Mine hosts a multi-generational Borate resource where boric acid will be produced for the large North American specialty chemicals market including high-end technologies such as electric vehicles, defense, and specialty magnets. The project site is an exceptionally rare and large colemanite deposit.

Position Summary:

The Electrical Control & Instrument Technician will support the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices. This position will provide setup, configuration, troubleshooting preventative maintenance and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes.

Ensures maintenance is executed according to established standards. Identify deficiencies through regular and thorough inspection of facility equipment and systems.
Works closely with the Maintenance Manager to optimize the Preventative Maintenance Program.
Administers preventive maintenance program to include machine history, maintenance, and lubrication logs. Follows through on maintenance needs and deficiencies as appropriate.
Maintains operation and maintenance manuals for all equipment. Record all tests, scans and inspections as directed.
Ensures accurate and timely documentation.
Strong working knowledge of the mechanical functions associated with conveyor systems and associated equipment.
Strong working knowledge of the mechanical functions associated with forklifts and associated equipment.
Strong working knowledge of the mechanical functions associated with pay loader, bulldozer and excavator equipment.
Performs MIG, and Arc welding.
Working knowledge of the mechanical functions associated with portable conveyor systems, and bulk processing equipment. Ability to troubleshoot electrical, engine and transmission, and possess general servicing skills.
Performs preventative maintenance on bulk moving equipment which includes but not limited to: assembling all tools, supplies and instruments necessary to complete the job, performing work with a minimum amount of disruption, conducting immediate clean-up of work area, completing the preventative task sheet, returning tools to workshop.
Monitors operation, adjusts and maintains facility equipment and systems, records readings as necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment and systems, and notifies appropriate parties of any problems or malfunctions.
Supports maintenance team on the boiler, compressor, and any other motors and or pumps that are used at the process plant
Assists other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of facility equipment.
Maintains tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs.
Complies with departmental policy for safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Follows safety practices, and utilize protective clothing and equipment as required by OSHA.
Safely use hand tools, power tools and test instruments to maintain, troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment.
Performs other various duties as assigned by supervisors.
