Minimum 4 years commercial/naval experience as First Class Shipfitter

- Multi-pass Tack Welding
- Burning-oxygen/propane burning torch
- Comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprint, and sketches
- Understanding of fractional dimensions with the use of rulers
- Layoff piece parts for fabrications and assembly
- Assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner
- Use of Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to execute work
- Be able to use vibratory tools, grinders and needle guns
- Ability to erect, set and makeup complex shaped shell plates, decks, bulkheads, longitudinal trunks
- Install and replace hull inserts and penetrations
- Must be able to climb up/down vertical ladder, bend, squat, kneel, work in confined spaces and around moving equipment
- Additional/Optional skills: rigger/material handling, optical instrumental experience, tank testing, shipwright/erect and set experience, and mobile equipment operation

Pay starting at $37.00/ hour
