NPTS, Inc., an Engineering Design and Construction Management firm has an immediate opening for a Designer at our Client’s Office in Richmond, Virginia. Primary area of focus is electric substation design. Utilizing Microstation CAD software, you will be responsible for creating substation design drawings in a project team environment. These drawings include arrangements, elevations, electrical details, foundations, structures, grounding, etc. Individual will manually and electronically designs and drafts detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and mechanical systems for portions of construction projects. Develops detailed design drawings utilizing company standards and engineering notes and sketches. Will visit construction/field sites.

Required Skills: Must have thorough knowledge of Microstation and Autocad. Two year Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Drawing from an accredited college or university. Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry required to perform complex calculations. Must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

This position is anticipated to start ASAP for a minimum of one year in duration.
