Director of Engineering, Power Electronics & Plasma Sources is responsible for leading a team in the design of new and novel toridial plasma sources to be used for semiconductor manufacturing. This individual will lead a team of engineers in the design, development, qualification, and release to manufacturing of toroidal plasma sources. This person must be able to independently lead an Engineering team with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical setting, and successfully interact with members of other organizations in a cross-functional development environment. A successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and have a fundamental understanding of plasma physics, power electronics, control systems and mechanical engineering.
Details:
Provide project leadership on assigned projects from start to finish, including technical leadership, and resource and budget allocation.
Organize teams to execute development and release of new toroidal plasma sources from conceptual design through product release.
Manage projects working closely with process, mechanical, electrical engineers and scientists for system characterization, specification, and electrical and mechanical integration.
Work with manufacturing engineering on release and documentation of new hardware, test equipment, and assembly fixtures.
Participate in the reliability program definition and drive continuous improvement efforts.
Support process and field engineering in customer application issues, including occasional field trips when required to introduce new products.
Communicate effectively in both oral and written form critical technical information regarding electronic/electrical and mechanical system design and performance, including schedule, specifications and cost ramifications.
Hands on manager capable of providing additional support, as required, keeping project deliverables on track.
Requirements:
MSEE in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 10 or more years of project or engineering management experience.
Demonstrated experience leading hi-tech products from initial concept and feasibility to reliable, volume production.
10 years experience with plasma technology or power electronics design; experience with RF driven plasmas and semiconductor processing a plus.
Familiarity with modern control system design.
Ability to apply analytical methods to solve design problems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Successful completion of a background check and drug screening, in accordance with company policies and federal and state guidelines.
