Manufacturing Engineer - 6 month contract assignment
Local candidate - no per diem - no expenses

This position supports multiple departments within and outside the organization, including: Shop Floor / Production, Procurement, Product Support, Scheduling, Quality, and External Customers. The responsible individual participates in engineering support activities in all of these areas, provides technical expertise, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance to company, customer and government standards.

Primary Responsibilities 
•Assist business in rapid implementation and short-term transfer from another site of a new production process
•Initiates engineering change notices in the ME area. Reviews technical merit of the changes along with FAA and customer compliance.
•Investigates inefficiencies and areas for cost reduction in manufacturing. Explores new processes and equipment to realize cost savings on new and existing product lines. Provides recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities.
•Supports manufacturing organization to maintain product flow. Clarifies and corrects work instructions as necessary. Investigates and resolves technical production problems. Ensures that production personnel have the necessary documents and tools required to build quality products.
•Establishes/reviews manufacturing processes and identifies improvement opportunities that support efficient product flow and/or cost reduction and lead/assists in solution implementations.
•Supports smooth transition of new products from Product Engineering into the manufacturing portion of the business. This includes involvement in the proposal and design phases of new product development, pilot builds, work instructions, engineering documentation review, training, cost analysis, design for manufacture suggestions, etc.

BS Degree Mechanical-Aerospace-Industrial-Electrical

2 -5 years experience

Ability to learn local process and procedure quickly to assist with urgent project

Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
